Impact on volunteers

“Honestly, I had a challenging time with this group of 40 volunteers,” said volunteer coordinator Paul Laverty (Northern Ireland). In spite of the challenges, some exciting stories came out of the volunteer programme. During the initial orientation one of the volunteers, JoAnn, said that she that she had never made a personal commitment to God. Her time working on the ship and the relationships she developed with crewmembers challenged JoAnn to make that commitment. “I talked to her on Sunday just before we left,” Paul said, “She is a changed person. I gave her some literature to help her grow.”
