£550 [GBP] (participants from United Kingdom)
The purpose or vision for this medical outreach is in three fold:
1. Providing free medical services and drugs to help relieve sick people from suffering for lack of finances, medical services and
2. To show the love of Jesus Christ to these people as the great healer who takes away our sins, sicknesses and pains.
3. Provide Christian medical professionals, health workers and volunteers opportunity to share their faith through services to poor people.
A number of villages in northern Ghana lack health facilities and workers. The people are poor and can’t access medical services elsewhere and sometimes not within reach. Drugs are rarely available and these villagers have very limited option than to use painkillers to treat any illness and also the use of unorthodox medicine. Through our medical outreaches, OM Ghana is reaching thousands of unbelievers in these rural communities with the Gospel and medical aid. This outreach is in response to huge number of requests from various communities where we serve to provide medical services and supplies. We have seen the plight of these people as most communities lack health facilities.
The medical outreach is focused and conducted in villages where there is no or limited access to medical health/services. We provide free consultations, drugs, laboratory services, food supplements to malnourished children, pregnant women and nursing mothers. The outreaches provide us a wonderful opportunity to share Jesus Christ with people who under normal circumstance would not attend any Christian event. Ministry include children evangelism, preaching in schools, open air crusades/Jesus film shows, prayers ,one on one and door to door, evangelism among Muslims and Fulani people. We hope to plant churches in a Muslim communities during the outreach.
Participants will be involved in the above activities listed against details of ministry including prayer meetings. In addition, team members will be involved in cooking, and other general activities of effective team life. There will be an opportunity for sightseeing at the end of the outreach.Participants should be able to speak English very well. They must love the Lord, be Christians. They must be willing to be generous to share the Gospel and to share their list testimonies with others. Both medical doctors, nurses, dentist, children workers, volunteers etc are welcomed.
