Heart Sounds International (HSI) is a ministry of OM Arts that focuses on encouraging indigenous worship around the world. The HSI team for this project will share Biblical principles about worship and the arts to encourage the local people to worship in indigenous styles.
Through this project we will strengthen a local church planting initiative in the villages around Bunda town, Tanzania, through teaching from a Biblical perspective about what worship could or should look like in these new congregations and about the role of the arts in building the kingdom of God. A secondary goal is to strengthen the media teams that serve in these church planting initiatives.
This project will bring a team to teach/preach Biblical perspectives about worship, culture, and the arts at one of the regular crusades led by an Evangelistic Assemblies of God Tanzania church in Bunda town to a village in Bunda district. Those experienced with media and technology in outdoor rural settings will also have the opportunity to model and train local Tanzanians in reasonable sound and possibly photo and video management in these settings using locally available equipment.
Ethnodoxologists & Biblical Theology of Worship Instructors are particularly desired. They must have academic training in ethnomusicology or theology respectively and have experience instructing others cross-culturally with little formal education. Those without proper experience may apply as assistants. The theology of worship instructor will work with the ethnodoxologist to adapt the teaching.
Live sound and video engineers, intercessors and photographers/videographers are also welcome to apply. Engineers will need experience working live events in rural areas and be able to teach others reasonable sound and/or video management using the equipment present in country.
Intercessors should have a passion for prayer and initiative to prompt the team and workshop participants to pray regularly.
Photographers/videographers should have amateur or professional level skills in photography and/or videography. Applicants will need to bring their own gear and work with those on the ground to do the actual work.
The team will stay in local accommodation in the village.
Participants will eat in host homes, local restaurants, and/or with the local crusade team. Please advise of dietary needs and restrictions.
